Forward Lauren Johnson's first goal of the season proved to be the game winner on Wednesday, as Cougar women's soccer scooted past Westmont 1-0.

The #10 ranked Cougars are now 6-1-2 on the season.

Johnson's goal came in the 52nd minute.  The freshman forward drove a shot from 12 yards out past the keeper and into the lower corner of the net.

As has been the case throughout the year, the Cougars' defense was once again stout, and star freshman keeper Kaycee Gunion made five saves to secure the shutout.  The Cougars have  recorded shutouts in 8 of their 9 games this season.

The Cougars will be back at home on October 5th to take on La Sierra.
