Calah Ayer has been named the CSUSM Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 15-22, 2013. She had a breakout performance at the Soka Peace Invitational on Saturday, breaking her own school record in the pole vault with a mark of 12 feet. She tied for the top mark of the day, but took second place after jump off. On top of that, Ayer cleared the NAIA “A” standard and earned her first trip to the NAIA National Championships in Indiana May 23-25. Ayer's mark also currently ranks second in the NAIA.
