Kody Sepulveda of the No. 11 Cal State San Marcos baseball team has been named the CSUSM Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 1-7, 2013. Sepulveda, a senior catcher and designated hitter from Temecula, Calif., compiled a .556 batting average while helping the Cougars to a 4-1 record and a four-game sweep of La Sierra. He went 6-for-7 with three doubles and a pair of RBI in Sunday's doubleheader with the Golden Eagles. For the entire series, Sepulveda was 9-for-14 (.643) with five doubles, four RBI and a pair of runs. Sepulveda was 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles in the series finale. He has recorded at least one double in three of his last four games. He currently leads the team in slugging percentage (.558) and is third in batting average (.338). He took home Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Male Athlete of the Week on Monday, April 8.
