Heather Thompson has been named the CSUSM Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 3-9, 2014. Thompson was named the A.I.I. Tournament Most Outstanding Player while helping the Cougars to a conference championship and a berth to the NAIA National Championship. She had a double-double with 10 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Northern New Mexico in the semis before contributing 18 points and eight rebounds in the final. She added six blocks during the tournament.
