HIGH SCHOOL
  • 2020 graduate of Valley Christian High School in Cerritos, California.
  • Competed for coaches Christina Dekker and Michael Nelson.
  • Was the Sprints MVP and team captain.
  • In 2019, broke school records in the 300-meter hurdles (46.10) and 4x400-meter relay (4:03).
  • Put up career-best marks of 16.80 in the 100-meter hurdles and 51.33 in the 4x100-meter relay in 2019.
  • Helped win the Olympic League Championship in 2017, 2018 and 2019,
  • Was also the team captain for cross country in 2018 and 2019 and also played basketball.
  • Earned valedictorian status and was a member of the National Honor Society.
  • Was in a youth group that volunteered at a women's shelter, a summer camp for middle schoolers and did mission trips in Zuni, New Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.

  • Aunt Kristy Bootsma competed in basketball, softball and volleyball at Trinity Christian University from 1984 to 1987.
  • Mom Denise ran track at Calvin College in Michigan from 1988 to 1991.
  • Wants to attend medical school and become a doctor after graduating.
  • Enjoys going to the beach, watching TV and movies, hanging out with friends and being outdoors.
  • Favorite movies are La La Land and The Proposal.
  • Favorite athletes are Sydney McLaughlin, Dalilah Muhammad, Allyson Felix, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Kris Bryant.
  • Favorite foods are pizza, chocolate, mac n' cheese and sweet potato fries.
  • Her dad is her greatest influence.
  • Roots for the Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks, Bulls and USA Track & Field.
  • Most memorable moment is breaking a 30-year old 4x400 record at league finals her freshman year of high school.
  • Is afraid of the dentist.
  • Majoring in Biology with a minor in Spanish.
