Ryan Morissey was named CSUSM's Assistant Women's Soccer Coach on July 1, 2024.
Morissey was previously the program's Volunteer Assistant Coach for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
In 2023, Morissey assisted the Cougars to their first-ever CCAA Tournament Championship and first NCAA West Regional appearance. For this, CSUSM's coaching staff was named the NCAA Division II West Region Coaching Staff of the Year.
Before coaching at CSUSM, Morissey was the head coach of the La Costa Canyon High School girl's soccer team from 2019 to 2023. Morissey was named the 2020-21 CIF Coach of the Year after guiding LCC to a CIF Open Division Championship that season.
Prior to La Costa Canyon, Morissey was an assistant coach of the Carlsbad High School girl's soccer team from 2016 to 2019. There, he helped win the 2018 CIF Open Division Championship and the 2017 and 2018 North County Coastal League Championships while helping Carlsbad become a CIF Open Division Finalist in 2017.
Morissey continues to coach girl's club soccer with City SC as the Development Player League Director and has been in that role since 2017. He was named as the DPL National Team Coach in 2023 and spent time in Englad with Premier League clubs Aston Villa, Chelsea and Wolves.
Morissey spent his time as a student-athlete at Concordia University Portland from 2014 to 2016 after a two-year stint as the team captain at Bellevue College from 2012 to 2014. With Concordia, Morissey helped win the CCC Conference Championship in 2014 before moved to NCAA Division II in 2015.
Morissey obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Concordia University Portland in 2016 before earning his Masters of Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine in 2022. He also holds a USSF "C" License.
