Tanya Ledesma started her second stint as Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach in September 2013, this time as a part of head coach Laurie Nevarez's staff.

Ledesma concentrates primarily on pitchers, in addition to serving as the team's strength and conditioning coach. She has worked as an exercise specialist for Athletes Edge, a training facility in Vista, Calif. that caters to professional baseball players and college athletes. Ledesma is also currently a personal trainer at Dimensional Fitness Concepts.

Ledesma previously served as an assistant on CSUSM's staff from its inaugural season in 2006-07 through 2010.

Ledesma had a decorated career as a collegiate player from 1999-02. She played her freshman year for the University of Southern Mississippi in 1999, where she competed in the NCAA Division I World Series. USM was ranked as high as No. 8 that season.

She returned to California for her sophomore season in 2000, where she helped Palomar College to a state championship.

Her final two years as an undergraduate were spent at Cal State Northridge. She was named team captain in 2002 for CSUN's nationally-ranked team and eventually earned All-Big West Scholar Athlete honors. She was also a member of the Dean's List.

She graduated from CSUN in 2002 with a B.A. in Psychology.
