Trevor Whiddon joined the Cal State San Marcos men's soccer staff as Volunteer Assistant Goalkeeper Coach in August 2014.
Whiddon will guide a CSUSM goalkeeping battery that posted a 0.88 goals against average in 2013.
Whiddon is also actively involved in San Diego Surf club soccer, where he has coached since 2013. From 2012-13, Whiddon assisted goalkeepers at NCAA Division II Cal State L.A. The prior two years, Whiddon coached at Irvine High School (2011-12).
He was a standout goalkeeper during his collegiate playing days at NCAA Division I Cal State Fullerton. He played all four years at CSUF (2008-11), where he was an All-Big West Honorable Mention honoree in 2010. His 119 saves in 2010 ranked 10th-most in Big West history. His 12 career shutouts rank fourth in CSUF history.
As a youth player, Whiddon won the Cal South State Championship four times and was a regional champion and a national finalist once. He was part of the United States U-20 national team pool in 2010-11 and also the U-18 youth national team pool in 2008-09.
He also played semi-professionally with the LA Blues, where he got to play against the U-20 Mexico National Team - the same group that won the U-17 World Cup in 2011.
Whiddon is finishing his degree with the University of New Hampshire and is studying sports management.
