2013 CSUSM alumn Brian Walker joined the men's golf staff as Assitant Coach in September 2014.
Walker, who competed for the Cougars from 2011-13, returned to San Marcos after serving as a golf instructor at the Central Coast Golf Academy in Arroyo Grande, Calif.
As a senior, Walker helped the Cougars take third place overall at the NAIA National Championships – the program's highest finish ever. That 2012-13 team set a program record for scoring average, won three tournaments and captured its first-ever Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) conference title.
Walker graduated from CSUSM with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Over two seasons competing for the Cougars, Walker averaged 77.72 strokes in eight tournaments and 25 rounds.
