Ryan Schlaich enters his first season as a Volunteer Assistant Men's Basketball Coach on head coach Jim Saia's staff in 2012-13.
Schlaich, a Concord, Calif.-native, graduated from Cal in May 2012 with a Bachelor's in American Studies. He served as a manager for the men's basketball team for four seasons and was head manager his final two years in Berkeley.
He is currently working on obtaining his Master's in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia (Calif.) University.
Schlaich graduated from De La Salle High School in 2008, where he was the head varsity basketball manager for four seasons. Current CSUSM senior Jose Rivera played at De La Salle while Schlaich was manager.
