Daniel Fria was named to B.J. Foster's coaching staff before the start of the 2016-17 season.

Fria enters his second season with the Cal State San Marcos men’s basketball coaching staff in the 2017-18 season.

In his first season at CSUSM, Fria helped the Cougars to an 18-10 overall record and a 12-8 record in conference play.
