Chuck Badger enters his second season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach on Coach Jim Saia's staff in 2012-13.
A basketball lifer, Badger graduated from San Dieguito High School in 1982 and has been working the sideline ever since.
He played at Biola University between 1982-84 before spending two seasons as a student assistant at BU under Howard Lyon and Dave Holmquist. He then moved on to be a graduate assistant on Lute Olson's staff at the University of Arizona from 1986-88, where the Wildcats made their first-ever Final Four in '88.
He then stayed out in Arizona to coach Tucson Christian High School in 1988-89. The following year, Badger headed west to serve as an assistant for Clete Adelman at MiraCosta College for a season.
1990-92 saw Badger travel to Brazil to coach professional club Atletas em Acao. He returned 1994-96 to be an assistant coach at Rancho Buena Vista High School before working as a head coach for Athletes in Action USA between 1996-03.
Badger took the next eight years off to coach his own kids as they were growing up. He returned to college coaching by joining Coach Saia's staff in 2011-12.
Chuck and Kim Badger have four children-- Chuck Jr. (19), Sarah (18), Tori (17), and Grace (10). The Badgers have lived in San Marcos since 1992.
