The CSUSM Athletics Step Forward Program is committed to providing student-athletes with a holistic collegiate experience focusing on four key values including health and wellness, career development, life skill development, and community engagement and service to help student-athletes not only succeed here while at CSUSM but also help prepare them to transition into a productive and rewarding life after sport.
This program aims to foster personal responsibility while preparing our student-athletes to step forward into their futures with passion, confidence, and an understanding of their talent and value outside of their athletic identity.

Cougar Career Night:
Each semester, the Athletics Step Forward Program will partner with the Career Center to host Cougar Career Nights for student-athletes. Student-athletes will need to attend the Career Night that is relative to their graduation track. For example, each semester 1

th years will have their own Career Night to attend. Although Career Nights are offered in both the Fall and Spring semesters, student-athletes will only participate in their graduation track's Career Night during their off-season.
