Ashford Sharp in 2-0 Victory Over Jamestown
No. 2 seed Ashford outshot No. 3 seed Jamestown 27-6 en route to a 2-0 victory over the JImmies Friday in the A.I.I. Tournament semi-finals.
It looked like the match would be scoreless heading into halftime, but Ashford's Hollie Babut knocked in a header off a corner kick to give the Saints the edge heading into the break. In the second half, Gudren Eggertsdottir knocked in an insurance goal from about 10 yards out on the left side in the 53rd minute, and the Saints never looked back.
Jamestown ends the season at 8-9-2, while Ashford improves to 12-4-2.
