Jamestown Takes Down Houston-Victoria in Shootout
After an exciting 110 minutes of play, second-seeded Jamestown defeated third-Seed Houston-Victoria in penalty kicks 5 to 4, and will advance to Saturday’s A.I.I. Championship match against top seed Ashford.
With the score tied 1-1 with three minutes remaining in regulation, Jamestown scored back-to-back goals to take a commanding 3-1 lead. Houston-Victoria amazingly responded back with two more of their own in the final minute and two seconds to send the game to overtime.
After two tightly contested overtime periods, the game eventually went to penalties, with Jamestown’s Jonathan Jacobs recording the game winning strike to send the Jimmie’s to the final.
