SAAC Kicks Off Paloma Reading Program
SAN MARCOS, Calif. - On November 2, SAAC kicked off its reading program with Paloma Elementary School. This year, SAAC will be visiting Paloma on Fridays to spend time with the kids, read a book about character building, and talk about the importance of education.
Our student-athletes are really looking forward to building this community partnership. "We were very excited that we could encourage these kids to continue their exceptional work ethic along with explaining what an honor it is to be a part of an athletic team at Cal State San Marcos. These students were very welcoming. Brittney and I had a blast answering their questions," said SAAC preseident Alex Miller of the CSUSM softball team.
Additionally, SAAC members are also helping CSUSM's Community Outreach Department by providing campus tours to the SMUSD Middle Schools.
