Jamestown Takes A.I.I. Tournament Title
SAN MARCOS, Calif. - The second-seeded Jamestown (N.D.) men's soccer team shutout top-seeded Ashford (Iowa) 3-0 in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) conference championship game to earn an automatic bid to the NAIA national tournament.
George Gauld, the A.I.I. Tournament MVP, scored in the nineth minute and Austin Dillard followed with a goal in the 33rd. Jack Keeling added another in the 59th to essentially put the game away.
AU (12-3-4) will hope that the NAIA tournament committee deems it necessary to provide Ashford with an at-large bid to the national postseason competition.
