AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE IN 2023
  • Recorded a 5-5 record with two complete games – one shutout.
  • Made eight starts with 14 relief appearances. 
  • Pitched 70.1 innings with an ERA of 2.99 and 30 strikeouts while holding opposing batters to a .252 clip. 
  • Tossed a complete game shutout, allowing just two hits while walking three and striking out four batters against Cal Poly Humboldt (Feb. 18).  

AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN IN 2022
  • Recorded a 7-5 record with four complete games – one shutout and one combined shutout. 
  • Made 16 starts and five relief appearances. 
  • Pitched 75.1 innings with an ERA of 3.72 and 29 strikeouts while holding opposing batters to a .296 clip. 
  • Recorded a complete-game win to clinch the West Regional Pod 1 Championship over Sonoma State (May 14), allowing just one unearned run on five hits and three walks while striking out three. 
  • Tossed five shutout innings, giving up only three hits while walking none, in the 8-0 victory against Cal State Monterey Bay (April 23).
  • Registered a combined shutout after tossing six scoreless innings against Azusa Pacific (Feb. 11), allowing just five hits and three walks. 
  • Held Cal State East Bay (March 12) to just two hits and no runs in five innings. 

AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN IN 2021
  • Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2020
  • Made seven starts and two relief appearances in the abbreviated season.
  • Threw 15 strikeouts in 38.2 innings of work.
  • Recorded her first collegiate win in the season opener, recording five strikeouts while allowing only three hits and one earned run, against Western Washington (Jan. 31).
  • Tossed four shutout innings, giving up only two hits while walking one, in the 8-0 victory over Humboldt State (Feb. 7).
  • Finished with a 3-2 record and a 5.79 ERA.

  • A 2019 graduate of Thousand Oaks High School. 
  • Four-time recipient of the Student-Athlete Award. 
  •  All-Marmonte League honorable mention honoree. 
  • Three-year member of Link Crew -  a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience.

  • Played for Bownet Konis (2 years), Firecrackers Caswell-Huntington Beach (1/2 year) and Firecrackers Kimura (1 year). 

PERSONAL 
  • Born in Bellevue, Washington. 
  • Daughter of Ronald and Amy Ballen. 
  • Has one older sister, Emma. 
  • Enjoys giving back to her community with her philanthropy "Zoe to Zoe - Helping Hands Project" - raising money and awareness for cancer patients and people in need. She also loves to sketch and watch "Friends" on Netflix. 
  • Favorite athlete is Ichiro Suzuki. 
  • Roots for the L.A. Dodgers and Seattle Seahawks. 
  • Greatest influences is her parents. 
  • Favorite movies are "Young Frankenstein", "Singing in the Rain" as well as all Disney, Star Wars and Marvel movies!  
  • Most memorable moment was playing the last game with her travel team and having so much respect and support from them for the past year. 
  • Favorite CSUSM moment was pitching against Team USA. It was an absolute dream, but that moment CSUSM tied up the game with Kayla Mack's hit, and the crowd cheering for the Cougars will always be a great memory. Loves spending time with her team, as never been surrounded by such a great group of girls before. 
  • Loves everything about CSUSM, the atmosphere, family dynamic, location, weather, amazing coaches, great professors and diverse athletic program makes her thankful that she chose CSUSM. 
  • Interesting fact is that she has watched the entire "Friends" series on Netflix 32 times. 
  • Majoring in Human Development with a focus on counseling services. 
  • Desires to be either a child life specialist or special education teacher with her overall goal is to help her community and work with children.
