COURSE REPORT: With
Ziggy Nacco leading the way, the Cal State San Marcos men's cross country team claimed runner-up honors Saturday morning at the Coyote Challenge. The Cougars totaled 66 points in the 8K race, finishing behind Cal Poly Pomona (27 points) and ahead of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (79).
FINISH LINE
- Nacco led CSUSM with a fifth-place finish in 25:02.0.
- Jaime Gachuzo was the second Cougar across the line, taking 12th place in 25:29.4.
- Braden Oberg followed in 13th with a time of 25:34.6.
- Jayson Oliver placed 18th overall in 25:48.7.
- Jacob Perez rounded out the Cougars' scoring five with a 23rd-place finish in 26:04.9.
- Owen Hinz (26th, 26:07.8) and Ben Stephens (33rd, 26:16.2) also contributed to the second-place team finish.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Cougars return to action Saturday, Sept. 19, at the UCR Invitational in Riverside.
