ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal State San Marcos goalkeeper Yoel Vazquez has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award for the week of Sept. 21-27.

Vazquez was a key player in the Cougars' undefeated week, allowing only one goal in their 2-0 weekend. He earned his third clean sheet this season with a 4-0 win over Cal State Monterey Bay and followed that up with a single goal allowed in the win against Stanislaus State. 

The senior goalkeeper from San Diego, Calif., held the conference's second-leading offense to zero goals, making four saves against the Otters. On Sunday, Vazquez faced eight shots from the Warriors, allowing only one goal in their 3-1 win.

Vazquez now ranks third in goals against average (1.38), third in shutouts (3), and fourth in saves (34) in the CCAA. Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders.
