KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team was announced as a 2025-26 College Team Academic Award recipient by the United Soccer Coaches on Friday.
 
Earning the honor for the fourth consecutive season, CSUSM posted a 3.13 grade-point average for the academic year.
 
"We are very proud of our fourth consecutive United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award," CSUSM Head Men's Soccer Coach Ron Pulvers said. "This award is a testament to the dedication, discipline and commitment of this incredible team. I'm proud of what they've accomplished together and even prouder of the standard they continue to set."
 
The Team Academic Award was created to recognize student-athletes' commitment to excellence in the classroom. To be eligible for the College Team Academic Award, the nominated program must be a current member of United Soccer Coaches College Services.  
 
For a team to be considered for the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, it must have a composite team grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for all team members who appear on the official NCAA, NAIA, NCCAA or junior college roster forms for the fall season. All players on the roster must be included in the calculation of the team GPA.

A total of 801 soccer teams (338 men, 463 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year. Of that total, 187 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
