BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Cal State San Marcos Head Men's Soccer Coach Ron Pulvers was announced as an inductee into the Baker University Athletic Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class on Friday.
 
Pulvers began his journey as a head coach at Baker in 1996 and led the Wildcats' men's soccer program for 10 seasons, compiling a 126-71-14 record during that span. While at the helm of Baker, the Wildcats won five Heart of America Athletic Conference championships, two Midwest Region titles and made three consecutive appearances in the NAIA National Tournament. He coached 35 All-Conference players, 13 All-Americans and 14 Academic All-Americans and was named HAAC Coach of the Year four times and Midwest Region Coach of the Year in 2002.
 
"I am not comfortable being recognized and am certainly not one for individual recognition," Pulvers said. "This honor, however, means so much to me. Baker University is a very special and unique place that will always hold a huge place in my heart.
 
"I want to thank Dan Harris, Baker University's Director of Athletics, for taking a chance on a young Ronnie Pulvers and trusting me to lead the program. That opportunity meant so much to me and shaped the course of my career. I also want to recognize Jason Hooper, who served alongside me for ten years and remains one of my closest friends today. His contributions, both professionally and personally, were—and continue to be—invaluable. I am incredibly grateful for his friendship, loyalty and partnership throughout the years.
 
"I want to thank my predecessors—Bob Godsey, Charlie Carary, Sean Holmes and Tim McClements—for paving the way and laying the foundation upon which I was fortunate to build.
 
"Finally, I want to express my sincere appreciation to the faculty and staff at Baker University, who were always so gracious, supportive and welcoming. I am grateful to have been part of such a special community and to the many people who played a role in my journey.
 
"Moreover, my wife, Kim, has been by my side for 32 years. Through every high and low, she has supported me, inspired me and brought balance to my life. My sons, Miles and Max, have sacrificed precious time with me along the way, yet they have always given me their unconditional love and support. I am deeply grateful for the three of them and for the countless ways they have shaped, strengthened and enriched my life.

"Most importantly, I want to recognize every player who pulled on a jersey. There have been so many great players and teams throughout the 40 years of the program, and I was blessed to be a part of 10 of those years. Baker University has a way of attracting special people and transforming them into great members of society. I will forever be proud of my time at Baker and will always be #BTID."
 
In 2006, Pulvers came to CSUSM to build the men's and women's soccer programs from scratch and has been a fixture for the men's program ever since as its lone head coach. Entering his 31st season as a collegiate head coach in 2026, Pulvers has a combined career record of 355-250-84 and is 271-208-60 as a men's head coach. This past season, Pulvers led the Cougars to their deepest postseason run in the program's NCAA Division II era, making it all the way to the championship game of the CCAA Tournament.
 
Pulvers will be formally inducted at Baker's 2026 Hall of Fame Banquet on Sept. 25.
