Foster, Hernandez Earn All-America Honors

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos women's golf took home multiple end-of-year recognitions, with Avery Foster being named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American first team, while Kiara Hernandez was named an honorable mention for the second time. Both golfers were also named to the All-West Region Team.

Foster, a second-team honoree last season, concluded the 2025-26 season ranked No. 13 in Division II with a 73.0 scoring average. The CCAA Golfer of the Year finished in the top five in eight tournaments this season, including a win at the Cal State East Bay Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout. She was the NCAA Division II West Regional Runner-Up, leading the program to its first-ever West Regional Championship win.

This season, Hernandez ended the year ranked 10th in the West Region with a 73.7 scoring average. The senior from Burbank finished inside the top 10 in six tournaments, including three top-3 finishes. After finishing eighth at the CCAA Championships, Hernandez took sixth at the West Regional. She placed 22nd at the NCAA Division II National Championships and won both of her medal matches as the Cougars finished as semifinalists.

Foster and Hernandez are now the fourth and fifth golfers in CSUSM program history to earn multiple All-American honors, joining Jaime Jacob (2019, 2020), Breann Horn (2019, 2022, 2023) and Madison Murr (2023, 2024, 2025).
