FRISCO, Texas – Cal State San Marcos' Assistant Women's Golf Coach Brook Brand has been named the recipient of the 2025-26 Division II Golf Pride WGCA Assistant Coach of the Year.
 
Handed out by the Women's Golf Coaches Association, the award recognizes a coach whose leadership, preparation, and commitment elevate their program's performance and positively impact the student-athlete experience.
 
In her three seasons at CSUSM, Brand has helped the Cougars to a 407-54-4 win-loss record in head-to-head scoring. CSUSM has tallied 18 team wins and 14 individual medalist honors since 2023-24.
 
The Cougars accumulated seven wins this season including the program's first NCAA Division II West Region Championship victory.
 
About the Women's Golf Coaches Association
The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 750 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
