Cougars Claim One Gold Medal on First Day of CCAA Championships

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's outdoor track & field team saw a gold-medal performance, a school record, an NCAA provisional mark and a total of three top-10 program marks on the first day of the 2026 CCAA Track & Field Championships at Mangrum Track & Field on Thursday.
 
TOP PERFORMERS
  • Danielle Patrick won the CCAA Championship in the pole vault with a school record and NCAA Division II provisional mark of 3.87 meters. She improved her PR by .06 meters.
  • Angela McManus (37:24.11) and Chloe Quezada (38:12.47) scored six total points for CSUSM in the 10,000-meter run as they finished in fifth and seventh, respectively.
  • In the 100-meter prelim, Orchid Concha ran the fourth-fastest time in program history at 11.98 seconds and finished third, while Nadia Miechowicz finished fourth in 12.03 seconds. Both were the fastest in their heats and qualified for Saturday's final.
  • Kam Pressley ran the seventh-fastest 400-meter hurdles time in program history with a prelim time of 1:03.99, finishing fifth and qualifying for Saturday's final.
  • Liberty Miller had the fastest time in the 1500-meter prelim at 4:39.42 while Danna Ibarra (4:43.32) finished eighth at 4:43.32. Both qualified for Saturday's final.
