COURSE REPORT:
The No. 11 Cal State San Marcos women's golf team captured its seventh consecutive CCAA Championship on Wednesday, with a wire-to-wire performance to finish with a three-round total of 23-over 887 (287-298-302) at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
Abby Sickles earned individual medalist honors with a tournament score of 1-under par 215, marking CSUSM's sixth individual CCAA champion in the last seven championships.
FIRST TEE
- Abby Sickles recorded a 1-under par 215 (66-74-75), pacing the field with a tournament-best 13 birdies. She opened the championship with eight consecutive birdies and finished day one with a tournament-record 6-under 66 to seize early control of the individual leaderboard.
- Ellaclair Leedom captured runner-up honors with an even-par 216 (72-73-71) performance, leading CSUSM on par-4 scoring and posting nine birdies across the championship.
- Avery Foster placed fourth overall with an 11-over par 227 (73-77-77), notching an eagle during the tournament and adding four birdies to the team total.
- Kiara Hernandez tied for eighth at 17-over par 233 (76-75-82), tallying nine birdies to tie for second-most in the field.
- Carmella Carlisi rounded out the scoring five for the Cougars, tying for 17th at 23-over par 239 (84-76-79).
