SAN MARCOS, Cali. – Jordan Hill of Cal State San Marcos has earned her third FloCollege/CCAA Softball Player of the Week award, this time for the week of April 6-12.
 
The marquee match-up featuring the top-ranked Cougars at No. 8 Cal State East Bay resulted in a four-game series split in Hayward. The series featured three games decided by three runs or less and two by one run, including an extra inning contest in the series opener. 
 
In three appearances, Hill ended up 1-1 with 14 strikeouts in 12.1 innings of work while recording a complete game. She pitched all eight innings of the opener — a 2-1 CSUSM decision. Hill was dominant in that game with a NCAA Division II era program-record 11 strikeouts while yielding just two hits.
 
The graduate student from San Dimas, Calif., also came on in relief on Friday in a 10-1 victory and allowed two runs on three hits in 1.2 innings in the series finale. Hill is now 13-3 on the season.
 
Hill ranks second among CCAA pitchers in ERA (1.68) and opposing batting average (.209). She is third in wins (13), fourth in strikeouts (86) and fifth in innings pitched (108.1).

This is Hill's third CCAA Pitcher of the Week award this season. She won this honor in back-to-back weeks Feb. 23-March 8 and was named the national pitcher of the week by the NFCA on March 3. Click here to see the complete list of CCAA Softball weekly award winners.
