SAN MARCOS, Calif. – For the second straight week,
Jordan Hill of Cal State San Marcos has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Hill continued her dominance in the opening game of the conference schedule as she threw a complete-game no-hitter on Friday over Stanislaus State. It was CSUSM's first no-hitter in during its NCAA Division II era. Hill was the first CCAA pitcher to toss a seven-inning no-hitter this season. CSUSM, the No. 1 ranked team in the country, eventually swept Stan State in the four-game series.
The junior from San Dimas, California, retired the first 14 batters she faced before a hit by pitch. After walking the leadoff batter in the sixth, she sat six straight Warriors in order to make program history. Hill struck out six, walked one and hit a batter in the team's 5-0 win. set. In her other outing of the series, Hill allowed three runs on seven hits in the team's 6-3 win.
Hill improved her personal record to 8-1 on the season. She leads the CCAA with a 0.47 ERA with just five runs allowed and is second in opposing batting average (.161) as well as strikeouts (57).
This is Hill's second career CCAA Pitcher of the Week award and CSUSM's fourth CCAA weekly honor this season as
Jillian Albayati was awarded Player of the Week twice in February.
The top-ranked Cougars have won 20 straight games and will take their 22-1 record up to Chico for a four-game series at Chico State this week. All games are available live on FloCollege.
