SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The No. 1 Cal State San Marcos softball team (20–1, 2–0 CCAA) opened conference play with authority on Friday at CSUSM Softball Field, shutting out Stanislaus State (11–7, 0–2 CCAA) in both games of the doubleheader. The Cougars took game one 5–0 behind Jordan Hill's no‑hitter—the first in CSUSM's NCAA Division II era—and followed with a 6–0 win in the nightcap.

• CSUSM broke through in the second inning when Hannah Tandy singled up the middle to score Lauren Deplitch for a 1–0 lead.
• After several innings of tension on both sides, the Cougars erupted for a four‑run fifth inning—punctuated by RBI hits from Kaila Siu, Angelina Rodriguez, and Madilyn Novello—to seize firm control at 5–0.
• In the sixth, Zoe Karam added a sacrifice fly to plate Jordan Elias, extending the margin to 6–0.
