SAN MARCOS Calif. –
Zoe Karam of Cal State San Marcos has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Softball Player of the Week, after hitting three home runs last week.
Karam hit a round-tripper in three of the series' four games as she led the Cougars to a sweep over San Francisco State. She slashed .538 batting (7-for-13) and 1.385 slugging percentages while posting a .563 on-base percentage. Her OPS for the series was 1.948 after hitting three homers and two doubles. Karam drove in 11 runs, scored seven times, walked twice and never struck out.
The junior third baseman from Murrieta, California, hit a two-run home run in the second inning of the series opener to help CSUSM to an 8-2 win. In game two, her two-run homer in the sixth capped off another 8-2 Cougars victory on Friday. Karam drove in four of the eight runs in the nightcap. On Saturday, she started off the day with a 2-for-4 game with an RBI double. Then she completed her great weekend with a 2-for-3, 4-RBI game that included a three-run go-ahead homer en route to a 9-4 CSUSM win.
