Hill Named FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Jordan Hill of Cal State San Marcos has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of Feb. 23-March 1.

Hill threw 19 shutout innings last week as she led the top-ranked Cougars to three more regional victories with wins over Vanguard (5-1 score), Montana State Billings (6-0) and Western Oregon (7-0). In three starts, she allowed 11 hits with 15 strikeouts and walked just three batters. Opponents batted .175 against Hill.

The senior from San Dimas, California, retired 12 of the first 13 Vanguard batters she faced in the 5-1 win on Tuesday. At the NorCal Crossover, Hill allowed just two hits with seven strikeouts over six innings in a 6-0 CSUSM win. She capped off the weekend with a complete game six-hit shutout with five strikeouts in the 7-0 Cougars win.

Hill improved her personal record to 6-1 on the season. She leads the CCAA with a 0.15 ERA with just two runs allowed and is second in opposing batting average (.158). Hill is also fourth in innings (48.0) and third with 48 strikeouts. Click here to see the CCAA stats leaderboard.
