ALISO NIGUEL, Calif. – Keira Patterson of Cal State San Marcos has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 12-18.

Patterson recorded back-to-back shutouts as the Cougars earned a pair of 1-0 victories in CCAA play. The sophomore goalkeeper from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., made five saves in Thursday's win over Chico State before adding one save in Sunday's victory at Cal State Dominguez Hills. She played all 180 minutes and stopped all six shots on target for a perfect 1.000 save percentage.

Patterson's five-save performance against Chico State helped preserve the narrow victory, while her steady play against Cal State Dominguez Hills secured another clean sheet. She now has six shutouts on the season.

Patterson's six shutouts place her among the CCAA's top goalkeepers. As a team, Cal State San Marcos has allowed just nine goals in 15 matches, tied for the third-fewest in the conference, while the Cougars' .795 team save percentage ranks among the league's statistical leaders. Cal State San Marcos is 8-2-5 overall and 6-2-2 in CCAA play, tied for second in the conference with 20 points. The Cougars will continue their road trip this week with matches at Cal State East Bay on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m. and UC Merced on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m. Both games are available to stream on CCAA on FloSports.
