SAN MARCOS, Calif. — The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (1-11, 0-4 CCAA) dropped a three-set decision (23-25, 15-25, 17-25) to Cal State San Bernardino (8-3, 3-1 CCAA) on Saturday afternoon at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Set 1 (25-23 CSUSB): CSUSM opened with energy, using a 4-1 run to take an early lead behind kills from Blayne Seligmiller and Addison Kranz. The Cougars later rallied from a 22-19 deficit with a 3-0 run that included a kill and a service ace from Izabella Santa Cruz to tie the set at 22. Despite the late push, CSUSB closed out the frame with back-to-back kills.
- Set 2 (25-15 CSUSB): The Cougars kept pace early, tying the set at 5-5 after a kill from Kassie Cooley and a service ace by Seligmiller. CSUSB responded with a 7-0 run to take control.
- Set 3 (25-17 CSUSB): CSUSM again started strong, trailing just 6-5 after a kill from Cooley. A 4-1 run featuring kills from Kranz, Eleanor Brislen, and Cooley brought the Cougars within 14-13. CSUSB answered with a 6-1 run to pull away.
