CSUSM Athletics Tallies 3.262 GPA for Spring 2025

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos Athletics posted a 3.262 grade-point average as a department for the Spring 2025 semester.
 
Of CSUSM's 14 teams, 13 recorded a term GPA of 3.0 or higher, with women's basketball leading the department with a program-record 3.709. It was followed by volleyball (3.588), women's soccer (3.546), men's cross country (3.489), men's golf (3.470), men's basketball (3.276), women's indoor/outdoor track & field (3.229), men's track & field (3.208), women's cross country (3.168), women's golf (3.139), men's soccer (3.104) and softball (3.056).
 
For the entire 2024-25 academic year, CSUSM student-athletes recorded a department GPA of 3.316.
 
"I'm so proud of our student-athletes as they continue to compete in the classroom at a high level," CSUSM Director of Athletics Morod Shah said. "Academics continue to be a priority for our student-athletes on their way to earning their degrees here at CSUSM."
 
Of all CSUSM student-athletes, 71.5% had a semester GPA of at least 3.0, while 41.8% had a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher. Following the Spring 2025 term, 80.1% of student-athletes now have a 3.0 or higher overall/cumulative GPA, while 39.2% have a 3.5 or higher overall/cumulative GPA.
 
CSUSM had 27 student-athletes earn the Mangrum Award for Academic Excellence with a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester. There were 86 Big Blue Award winners with a semester GPA of 3.500-3.999, while 80 earned the Cougar Award with a semester GPA of 3.000-3.499.
