ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team had two student-athletes take home All-CCAA honors as midfielder
Efren Nunez Dominguez was named to the first team, while defender
Blake Haseyama was named an honorable mention by the conference on Wednesday.
Â
Nunez Dominguez has tallied nine goals for the season, tying for the conference lead. Three of those goals were game-winners, ranking second in the league. With his five assists for the season, the redshirt junior from Fontana has accumulated 23 points for the year, ranking third in the CCAA and the most at CSUSM during the program's NCAA Division II era (2015-present). This is Nunez Dominguez's first All-CCAA nod.Â
Â
As the lone Cougar to start all 18 games this season, Haseyama has scored two goals and tallied two assists. This is the sophomore defender's first time being named to an All-CCAA squad and is the first CSUSM defender named to the list since 2022.
Â
CSUSM has tallied at least two All-CCAA honorees in three of the last four seasons and had at least one first-teamer in each of the previous three seasons.
Â
The fifth-seeded Cougars will play in the semifinals of the CCAA Tournament against top-seeded Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Cardinale Stadium in Seaside.
