CARSON, Calif. – The No. 19 Cal State San Marcos softball team (19-12, 7-7 CCAA) split Thursday's doubleheader at Cal State Dominguez Hills (19-11, 12-8 CCAA), dropping the series opener 7-3 before posting a seventh-inning comeback 6-5 victory in the nightcap.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM took a 1-0 lead in the opening inning on an RBI single by Prater scoring Waymire who led off the game with a single through the left side. Â
- The Toros evened it in the second inning when Kaylee Hull hit a leadoff homer.
- CSUDH took a 5-1 lead in the third after tallying four runs on three hits, two walks and two CSUSM errors.
- In the top of the fifth, Donnelly hit the second ball she faced over the center field wall for a solo home run to cut CSUDH's lead to 5-2.
- CSUDH's Mireya Rico answered with her own leadoff home run in the bottom of the frame before Alexis Aguado knocked in the final run of the game on a RBI single through the right side to make it 7-2.

- CSUSM starter Savannah Coyle (7-7) recorded the loss after two innings of action, giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits, one walk, three wild pitches and one hit batter.
- CSUDH reliever Mariah Ramirez (14-7) collected the win after 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and no walks. Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM went up 2-0 in the first inning on a Prater RBI groundout and a Czar Fleischman RBI single up the middle.
- Coyle's RBI single up the middle in the third inning raised CSUSM's lead to 3-0.
- The Cougars doubled their score in the fourth with a 2-RBI single to left field by Donnelly and an RBI fielder's choice by Prater that made it 6-0.
- CSUSM pushed four more runs across the plate in the fifth on a Donnelly 2-RBI double, a Toro error and a Albayati RBI single.
QUICK HITS
- CSUSM starter Jayline Sloss (11-4) registered her 11th win of the season after a 2-hit, five-inning performance in the circle that included five strike outs. Â
