CHICO, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team (7-11, 6-6 CCAA) suffered a 95-61 loss to No. 24 Chico State (13-4, 8-4 CCAA) on Thursday night at Acker Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
	- CSUSM got out to a 9-5 lead on a fast-break layup by Tengan with 16:44 to go in the first half.
- Chico went on a 7-0 run immediately after and took a 12-9 lead on an Evan Oliver layup with 13:27 remaining.
- The Cougars retook the lead at 13-12 on a Jack Schultz 3-pointer and a free throw with 12:06 left in the half.
- After that, Chico took control and ended the half with a 46-25 lead as the Wildcats shot 51.5% (17-of-33) from the field to the Cougars' 33.3% (9-of-27).
- Chico had a lead no smaller than 19 points in the entire second half and took their largest lead of the game at 93-55 on a 3-pointer by Max Walters to give the Wildcats a 38-point advantage with 1:48 remaining.
- CSUSM shot better in the second half at 48.5% (16-of-33) but Chico still had the edge at 54.5% (18-of-33).
 
FAST BREAKS
	- The Cougars ended the game shooting 41.7% (25-of-60) from the field while the Wildcats had the hotter hand at 53% (35-of-66).
- Chico had the advantage in rebounds (47-29), assists (16-8), steals (7-5), blocks (5-1) while committing fewer turnovers (15-14).
- Tengan's team-leading 17 points were a season high.
- Foster scored a season-high 12 points and matched his rebound high with seven.
