SAN MARCOS, Calif. ­– A last-second layup with 0.9 seconds remaining put San Francisco State (10-8, 4-6 CCAA) past the Cal State San Marcos men's basketball (7-9, 6-4 CCAA) by a score of 69-67 on Thursday night at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• SF State took its largest lead of the first half at the 10:39 mark on a Tyjean Burrell layup that made it 17-5.
• CSUSM answered with a 17-5 run to even the score at 22-all on a layup by Max Tengan with 3:56 remaining in the half.
• After an Alex Smith jumper put the Gators up 24-22 at the 2:02 mark, neither team scored in the final two minutes.
• The Gators led the entire first half after shooting 32.3% (10-of-31) to CSUSM'S 29.6% (8-of-27).
• SF State outrebounded CSUSM in the first 20 minutes, 25-19.
• Both teams opened the second half with 3-pointers with SF State's Jonah Roth sinking one first before Pope followed with his own 16 seconds later.
• A jumper by Collins evened the game at 27-all at 17:32 in the second half.
• An inbound play to Henderson for a layup gave CSUSM its first lead of the game at 29-27 at the 16:46 mark.
• The Cougars extended their lead to five points (36-31) on a second-chance 3-pointer by Jack Schultz.
• The Gators scored eight unanswered points to take a double-digit lead at 53-43 on a Roth layup at 10:13.
• CSUSM battled back to 54-50 on a Collins jumper with 7:07 remaining.
