SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Three unanswered goals pushed the Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team (2-0-0) past Biola (0-2-1) as the Cougars earned a 3-1 victory on Wednesday afternoon at The Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A quick pass in middle of the field from BU's Kovalchick found Eisenman at the top of the box, who put a roller into the bottom right corner of the net to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.
- CSUSM knotted the game in the 26th minute as a corner kick from the left side by Collazos found the foot of Reader, who put the ball into the bottom center portion of the net.
- Tied 1-1 at half, CSUSM had a 5-3 lead in shots while taking the lone corner kick of the half.
- Alvarez gave CSUSM a 2-1 lead in the 51st minute. A pass from Meinardus to Alvarez just outside the top right corner of the box turned into a sailing shot from that went over the keeper's head and into the top middle portion of the goal.
- CSUSM put the game to bed in the 80th minute. After Meinardus was fouled in the box, he delivered a floater of a penalty kick to put the Cougars ahead 3-1.

- CSUSM outshot Biola, 15-6, and put eight shots on goal.
- The Cougars tallied three corners to the Eagles' two.
- Meinardus now has three goals and one assist in the Cougars' first two games of the season. Two of his goals have been from penalty kicks.
- Meinardus also led the game in shots with five.
- CSUSM controlled the ball for 51% of the contest.
- The Cougars now own the all-time series lead at 6-5-4.
- This was the first CSUSM win over Biola since 2018.
- The Cougars have scored three goals in three of their six wins against the Eagles.
