SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team (3-1-1) took it first loss of the season as it fell 2-0 to Hawai'i Hilo (2-1-0) on Saturday at The Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars battled to a scoreless tie in the first 45 minutes with the Vulcans leading in shots at 5-3 and corner kicks at 5-0.
- HHU scored the game's first goal in the 52nd minute as Aidan Santos fed a ball to Rehedul on the right side of the box before Rehedul put the shot into the left side of the goal to give the Vulcans a 1-0 lead.
- Just a few minutes later in the 60th minute, Clarke gave HHU a 2-0 lead with an unassisted goal from the right side of the box and into the right side of the net after battling for possession.

QUICK KICKS
- CSUSM ended the game with a 12-7 shot advantage after taking nine shots to HHU's two in the second half.
- The Cougars took four corner kicks in the second half while the Vulcans took none.
- Both teams spit time of possession evenly at 50% while CSUSM had the ball in HHU territory for 59% of its possessions.
- Ryan Meinardus led the game with three shots.
- This was just the second meeting between CSUSM and HHU with the series now tied at 1-1.
