SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team (3-0-0) will play the third and fourth games of its six-game homestand by hosting Westmont (0-4-0) on Thursday at 3 p.m. before concluding the week against Hawai'i Hilo (1-1) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
 
LAST WEEK

• CSUSM went 2-0 last week with a pair of three-goal days against Biola and Western Oregon.
• The Cougars earned a 3-1 win against Biola with goals from Oliver Reader (26') and Aaron Alverez (51') before Ryan Meinardus (80') punched in his second penalty kick goal of the season.
• The Cougars outshot the Eagles, 15-6, and put eight on goal.
• CSUSM finished off the week with a 3-0 shutout against Western Oregon in the first meeting of the two programs.
• Curtis Collazos had a pair of goals in the 15th and 76th minutes with a 38th-minute goal by Riley Patterson sandwiched in between.
• The Cougars didn't allow a single WOU shot on goal for the first time since facing Antelope Valley in 2014.

THURSDAY AGAINST WESTMONT

• CSUSM and Westmont will face each other for the first time since 2013 in San Marcos.
• The Cougars are 2-0 when playing at home and are 3-3 in the all-time series against the Warriors.
• CSUSM has won three of the last four games against Westmont.
• The Warriors have had a rough 0-4 start to the season with a 1-0 loss to Saint Martin's, a 2-0 loss to Simon Fraser, a 1-0 loss at Cal State LA and a 2-0 loss to Cal State Dominguez Hills.

SATURDAY AGAINST THE VULCANS

• CSUSM and Hawai'i Hilo will face each other for just the second time on Thursday.
• The Cougars and Vulcans went to double overtime in 2019 and saw CSUSM earn a 2-1 win in San Marcos.

• This season marks the 18th season for head coach Ron Pulvers at CSUSM.
• Pulvers has a 130-114-29 (.529) record as CSUSM's head men's coach.
• In 26 seasons as a collegiate head men's soccer coach, Pulvers holds a 256-185-43 (.573) career record.
• He was 84-42-24 (.640) while in charge of the CSUSM women's program.
• From 2006-13, Pulvers led both the CSUSM men's and women's soccer teams.
