Cougars to Play for CCAA Championship in Regular-Season Finale

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Already locked into the CCAA Tournament field, the Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (9-2-5, 6-0-4 CCAA) will look to earn at least a share of the CCAA Regular-Season Championship as it heads to Cal State East Bay (7-6-4, 4-5-1 CCAA) for its regular-season finale on Thursday at 2 p.m.

LAST WEEK
  • CSUSM had a 2-2 tie last Friday at Cal State San Bernardino to extend its unbeaten streak to 10 games.
  • The Cougars then clinched their first CCAA Tournament berth since 2018 and third overall with a 1-0 victory at Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday while improving their unbeaten streak to 11 games.
  • The win over the Broncos moved them into a tie with CPP for first place atop the CCAA standings at 22 points with only one game left to play.

Emma Hord CCAA Defensive Player of the Week

CCAA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
  • Defender Emma Hord became the third Cougar to take home CCAA Player of the Week honors in as many weeks as she was named the conference's top defender on Tuesday.
  • Hord scored the game-winning goal against Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday to help the Cougars lock up a CCAA Tournament berth while also improving the team's unbeaten streak to 11 games.
  • This was her first career CCAA Player of the Week honor.
