SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Already locked into the CCAA Tournament field, the Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (9-2-5, 6-0-4 CCAA) will look to earn at least a share of the CCAA Regular-Season Championship as it heads to Cal State East Bay (7-6-4, 4-5-1 CCAA) for its regular-season finale on Thursday at 2 p.m.

LAST WEEK
- CSUSM had a 2-2 tie last Friday at Cal State San Bernardino to extend its unbeaten streak to 10 games.
- The Cougars then clinched their first CCAA Tournament berth since 2018 and third overall with a 1-0 victory at Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday while improving their unbeaten streak to 11 games.
- The win over the Broncos moved them into a tie with CPP for first place atop the CCAA standings at 22 points with only one game left to play.
CCAA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
- Defender Emma Hord became the third Cougar to take home CCAA Player of the Week honors in as many weeks as she was named the conference's top defender on Tuesday.
- Hord scored the game-winning goal against Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday to help the Cougars lock up a CCAA Tournament berth while also improving the team's unbeaten streak to 11 games.
- This was her first career CCAA Player of the Week honor.

- CSUSM will have the opportunity to win at least a share of the conference's regular-season crown and the No. 1 seed at the CCAA Tournament with a win on Thursday.

REGULAR-SEASON FINALE AGAINST THE PIONEERS
- The Cougars and Pioneers will meet for the second time this season on Thursday after coming to a scoreless draw in non-conference on Sept. 23.
- In eighth place with 13 points, East Bay has already been eliminated from CCAA Tournament contention since it can't win any head-to-head tiebreakers or three-way tie scenarios with Stanislaus State and Cal Poly Humboldt.
- The Pioneers are 7-0-2 at home this season.
- East Bay lost its past two games by scores of 2-1 at Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino this past weekend, ending a three-game win streak.

- The Cougars' return top scorers Claire Hernandez, Diana Mendoza and Jenna Frankina as each posted two goals in 2022.
- Hernandez earned All-CCAA second-team honors last season while Jenna Frankina, Natalia Huntington and Allison Marcure were honorable mentions.
- Because of last season's second-team honor, Hernandez was listed on the CCAA's 2023 Preseason Watchlist.
- Returning in goal for her redshirt junior season is Allison Marcure, who posted 51 saves and nine shutouts while playing all 1,620 minutes last season.

- Head coach Bobby Renneisen enters his ninth year in charge of the women's program and 17th overall at CSUSM.
- Renneisen's 2018 team made its second consecutive CCAA Tournament appearance while also handing No. 1 UC San Diego its lone regular-season loss.
- Between 2006-13, Renneisen was an assistant/associate head coach for both the men's and women's soccer teams.
- As the women's head coach, Renneisen is 62-51-40Â (.536) for his career with the Cougars.
