HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Battling for possession after a CSUSM corner kick, Hord ended up with the ball near midfield on the right side. Hord put a high ball into the box where the Bronco keeper misplayed the ball and allowed it to go into the goal to put the Cougars up 1-0 in the 19th minute.
  • After 45 minutes, the Cougars had a 6-3 shot lead and put the half's lone shot on goal. CSUSM also head the period in corner kicks at 3-1.
  • In the second half, the Broncos turned up the pressure with five shots to the Cougars' three, but CPP only managed to put one shot on goal in the 70th minute that turned into a defensive save.
