SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (6-2-3, 3-0-2 CCAA) moved its unbeaten streak to six games with 1-0 victory against Cal State Monterey Bay (2-5-4, 1-3-1 CCAA) on Thursday night at the CSUMB Sports Complex Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 20th minute of play, Ramos fed a pass to Kia'aina from the left side to the center of the field in front of the box. As Ramos ran right between two Otter defenders at the top of the box, Kia'aina made a quick pass to her where she took a shot just left of the penalty marker and hit the inside of the right post before the ball made its way into the goal for the 1-0 lead.
- CSUSM ended the first period with 6-1 lead in shots and a 2-1 advantage on corner kicks.
- After Danielle Paulson was fouled in the box, Dianna Mendoza took the penalty kick and put the ball into the lower left corner of the goal to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead in the 78th minute.

- Now unbeaten in six games, CSUSM has tied the program's longest unbeaten streak in the NCAA Division II era (2015-present) while tying for the fifth longest in program history.
- Earning another three points, the Cougars have second place all to themselves in the CCAA standings with 11 points and trail leader Cal Poly Pomona by two points.
- This was CSUSM's eighth shutout of the season.
- CSUSM ended the game with 17 shots to CSUMB's three while putting six on goal. Its 17 shots are the third most in a game this season.
- The Cougars finished with seven corner kicks to the Otters' one.

- Ramos and Mendoza each tallied their third goal of the season while Ramos tallied increase her point total to a team-leading 10.

- Mendoza scored her third penalty kick goal of the season – a new CSUSM single-season record. She's now 3-for-3 in PK opportunities this year.
- The Cougars increased their winning streak against the Otters to three games and are now 6-1-1 in the all-time series.
- CSUSM's two-goal win tied for the largest margin of victory in the all-time series.
- The Cougars have taken at lead 14 shots in four of its last five games.
