SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (2-3-2) will begin CCAA play this week by hosting Cal State East Bay (2-2-2) on Friday at 12:30 p.m. before welcoming Stanislaus State (3-1-2) to The Cage on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

- CSUSM ended non-conference play with a 1-0 loss to Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday.
- Natalia Huntington led the game with four shots while the Cougars outshot the Coyotes 16-6.

- CSUSM has the 38th-best shutout percentage in Division II at .571 while posting the 45th-best goals-against average at .714.

CCAA OPENER AGAINST THE PIONEERS
- East Bay ended non-conference play with a 1-1 draw at home against Stanislaus State on Saturday night.
- The Pioneers have been outscored 9-6 in their first six games of the season.
- Morgan Pearson leads East Bay with three goals and 11 shots this season.
- CSUSM has a commanding 5-1-1 record in the all-time series against CSUEB and is 1-1 in San Marcos.

- Stanislaus State comes into the weekend with a 3-1-2 overall record after finishing non-conference play.
- The Warriors' lone loss came on Sept. 10 against Hawai'I Hilo as East Bay fell 1-0.
- Stan State has outscored opponents 11-7 after six games, averaging 1.83 goals and 15 shots per game.
- Alexis Brewah has been the Warriors' top player to this point with five goals, three assists, 13 points, 23 shots and 12 shots on goal.
- Stan State was picked to finish sixth in the 2022 Preseason Coaches Poll.
- CSUSM is 1-5-1 in the all-time series against Stanislaus and is 1-2-1 when playing in San Marcos.

2022 CSUSM WOMEN'S SOCCER NOTES
- CSUSM will begin its 2022 season with a very young roster as it welcomes 13 incoming freshmen to its roster of 28.
- The Cougars return 12 from the 2021 squad, including top-goal scorers Chloe King, Sierra Moore and Hunter Morton and starting keeper Allison Marcure.
- Marcure ended the 2021 season with the 25th-best save percentage in Division II at .855 and ranked third in the CCAA.
- Graduate students Taylor Moorehead and Julia Atlee join CSUSM as transfers from San Diego State and Hartford, respectively.
- In 2021, the Cougars finished the season at .500 with an overall record of 6-6-3.
- CSUSM finished 10th in the CCAA standings with a 2-6-3 record.
- The Cougars were picked to finish 10th in the 2022 CCAA Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll.

THE RENNEISEN FILE
- Head coach Bobby Renneisen enters his ninth year in charge of the women's program and 17th overall at CSUSM.
- Renneisen's 2018 team made its second consecutive CCAA Tournament appearance in 2018 while also handing No. 1 UC San Diego its lone regular-season loss.
- Between 2006-13, Renneisen was an assistant/associate head coach for both the men's and women's soccer teams.
- As the women's head coach, Renneisen is 49-47-30Â (.508) for his career with the Cougars.
