SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Nikki Andelin of the Cal State San Marcos softball team and Luke Reece and Mark Stanford of the Cal State San Marcos baseball team have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District first team.
 
The Academic All-District Baseball and Softball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
A senior Psychological Science major with a 3.61 grade-point average, Andelin is hitting .356 with an .894 OPS, 57 hits, 11 doubles, two triples, two home runs, 26 RBIs and a .488 slugging percentage while leading the team with 42 runs and 23 stolen bases in a team-best 53 games played.
 
A sophomore Psychological Science major with a 3.75 GPA, Reece ended the season with the fourth-highest batting average in the CCAA at .393 while tallying 64 hits. Reece also led CSUSM with 39 runs and 80 total bases while ranking second on the team with a .929 OPS, a .491 slugging percentage, a .438 on-base percentage, 12 doubles and 37 RBIs. He tied for the team's longest hitting streak of the season at 15 consecutive games and multiple hits in 18 games.
 
A senior Business Administration major with a 3.97 GPA, Stanford led CSUSM with a .987 OPS, 17 doubles, five home runs, a .551 slugging percentage and 23 walks while finishing the year with a .304 batting average, 23 runs, 42 hits and 31 RBIs.
 
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
