ARCATA, Calif. – The No. 19/19 Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team (17-4, 13-4 CCAA) closed out the regular season with a 75-47 victory against Humboldt State (11-14, 5-15 CCAA) on Saturday night at Lumberjack Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM never trailed in the contest and led for 39:18.
- Following a McCain jumper to make it 21-11 with 9:11 to play in the first, the Cougars had double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.
- A jumper by Lyle Sutton off a Humboldt turnover gave CSUSM its largest lead of the half at 31-11 with four minutes to play, concluding a 12-point run.
- With 47 seconds remaining in the period, Milton made a layup to close out the first-half scoring at 37-18.
- CSUSM shot 57.7% (15-of-26) in the first 20 minutes and held the Lumberjacks to 30.4% (7-of-23). The Cougars were also 5-of-11 (45.5%) from downtown.
- Less than two minutes into the second half, CSUSM went up by 30 at 48-18 with a Seits jumper.
- A 3-pointer by Seits with 7:58 to go gave the Cougars their largest lead of the contest at 69-33.

FAST BREAKS
- With the win, CSUSM locked up the No. 3 seed in the CCAA Tournament. The Cougars were also the No. 3 seed the first and only time they made it to the postseason back in 2017-18.
- The Cougars finished the game shooting 54.7% (29-of-53) from the field while shooting a season-best 52.6% (10-of-19) from beyond the arc. CSUSM held Humboldt to 34% (16-of-47) from the field and 12.5% (2-of-16) from 3-point land.
- This was CSUSM's first time this season shooting 50% or better in back-to-back games as it shot 58.5% on Thursday against Sonoma State.
- CSUSM had a massive advantage in assists at 16-4 – its largest margin of the season in the category.
- The Cougars outrebounded the opposition for the second consecutive game at 31-21.
- CSUSM tallied more steals than its opponent for the 14th consecutive game at 4-3. The Cougars have held the advantage in steals in all but one game this season.
- Milton's seven assists were a career high.

UP NEXT
CSUSM will open up the CCAA Tournament by facing sixth-seeded Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. back in Arcata at Lumberjack Arena. The winner will face second-seeded Chico State on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
