Box Score SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (5-11, 4-5 CCAA) fell in three consecutive sets to visiting Cal State East Bay (13-4, 6-3 CCAA) on Thursday evening in The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A slow CSUSM start set up the Pioneers for victory in the opening set, which ended at 25-14.
- The second set was a different story altogether as the Cougars jumped out ahead 15-8 before CSUEB came charging back to even the set at 15-all. CSUSM eventually dropped the second set 23-25.
- In the third set, the Cougars trailed 18-12 before scoring five unanswered points to close the gap to one point that included two Mya Galvain aces. The Pioneers responded with a 7-2 run to clinch the sweep with a 25-19 third-set victory.

- This marks the first time CSUSM has lost to the Pioneers at home as the Cougars were victorious in their first four matches in San Marcos against CSUEB.
