SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – In its final game of the 2021 season, the Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team fell 5-0 to Cal State San Bernardino on Thursday afternoon at Premier Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a cross-box pass to the left side by Sierra, Flores put a shot into the left side of the goal from the middle of the box to give the Coyotes a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute.
- In the 36th minute, CSUSB went up 2-0. With the ball near the end line and left of the goal, Atkins made a quick pass to Gomez, who put the ball into the left corner of the goal off his right foot from eight yards out.
- CSUSM was whistled for a foul in the box in the 44th minute. On the penalty kick, Kevin Aguilar put a low grounder into the left side of the goal to give the Coyotes a 3-0 lead.
- On an unassisted goal in the 68th minute, Rigo Aguilar intercepted the ball from a CSUSM defender and took a shot from outside the left corner of the box. The long ball sailed over the Cougar keeper's head and into the right corner of the net to give CSUSB a 4-0 lead.
- The Coyotes concluded the scoring in the 80th minute. After stripping the ball from a Cougar defender, Arellano made a pass to the right side of the box to Mark. With Knorr coming into the box undefended from the left side, Mark crossed a pass on the ground in front of the CSUSM keeper. Knorr connected on a low shot to the bottom right corner of the goal and put the Coyotes up 5-0.

QUICK KICKS
- CSUSM ends the season at 4-12-1 (3-7-1 CCAA) while CSUSB improved to 9-4-3 (7-2-2 CCAA) and ended the regular season third in the CCAA standings.
- The Cougars edged out the Coyotes in shots on goal at 7-6 while CSUSB had the upper hand in total shots at 11-10.
- Both sides took two corner kicks.
- Curtis Collazos and Cesar Caro-Avila each had a team-high two shots with both on goal.
- CSUSM lead the possession battle at 52%.
