COURSE REPORT:Â The No. 20 Cal State San Marcos women's golf team sits atop of the leaderboard of the Sonoma State Invitational with a two-stroke lead and are led by a pair of Cougars in the top 10.
FIRST TEE
- Stephanie Heimler carded a team-low 75 (+3), tallying three birdies and six bogeys in her opening round. She is in a four-way tie for fifth.
- Starting on the eleventh hole, Diana Delgado opened the tournament with seven consecutive pars before recording a bogey on 18, only to follow it with a birdie on hole one. She finished the day with a 76 (+4) and is tied for ninth.
- Makenna Cabardo ended her round on a high note with a birdie on the ninth hole to finish with a 77 (+5) and is tied for 14th.
- Madison Murr rounds out CSUSM scoring top 4 with a 78 (+6) and is tied for 16th.
- Lauren Hickam shot an 81 (+9) and is tied for 35th.
- Playing as an individual, Regan Barton carded an 88 (+14) and is tied for 65th.
